Today we say goodbye to the Christmas season here in Iceland. The Christmas was a very nice time, we got some good quality time together, good food, lots of snow and surprisingly lots of sleep. Me and my husband are not used to lots of sleep because our kids, 1 and 4 normally wake up early but they surprised us and slept in most of Christmas... very nice :-)
We of course had a lot of Christmas decorations, and nothing was left untouched in our Christmas box since my daughter insisted on using all our stuff, even the really old things that we hardly use anymore. My husband went with our daughter and picked out our Christmas tree which was one of the strangest looking that I have had. We could not have anything at the top since it was so huge and thick... and it was kind of double so no top this year;

Me and my family on Christmas eve |
My daughter (4 years old) got a camera from Santa and she is really enjoying taking photos of everything. She sometimes says that she wants to be a photographer so maybe she will take over when I'm finished!!!!

We had my parents over for New Year's eve and my sister lives above us so we all went upstairs to watch the old year go away and the new one appear.... and of course we got to watch all the beautiful fireworks.
Yesterday I took down all the Christmas decoration at home and our Christmas tree was put outside where the town workers will pick it up. My daughter stayed in here room, sulking that Christmas was over and we had to take everything down. My home now looks like it normally does.... and today everything got back to normal.
